Just two hours away from Pattaya, you will find a city with so much to see and do on offer!
Ayutthaya and Pattaya represent two distinctly different facets of Thailand’s rich cultural and touristic landscape.
Ayutthaya, located north of Bangkok, is a historic city that served as the capital of the Kingdom of Siam for over 400 years. Its UNESCO World Heritage-listed ruins, including majestic temple complexes and palace remnants, offer visitors a glimpse into
Thailand’s illustrious past. Wandering through the atmospheric archaeological sites, one can almost envision the grandeur of the former Siamese kingdom. Ayutthaya emanates a sense of timeless serenity and reverence for Thailand’s heritage.
In contrast, Pattaya is a coastal resort city that has developed a reputation for its vibrant, modern entertainment scene. Situated along the sparkling Gulf of Thailand, Pattaya is known for its lively beachfront promenade, high-rise hotels, international restaurants, and bustling nightlife. The city caters to a wide range of tourists, from families seeking fun water parks to party-goers drawn to Pattaya’s infamous bars and clubs.
While Ayutthaya offers a glimpse into Thailand’s storied past, Pattaya represents the country’s rapidly evolving tourism landscape, catering to the needs and expectations of a modern, global traveler. Together, these two distinct destinations showcase the multifaceted allure of Thailand.

I went on a tour of Ayutthaya last year. Was really good to have a tour guide who knew the history of what we were seeing.
Hey trev was it the capital before Bangkok?
Was there about 20yrs ago for a couple of days.
There were loads of places hiring bicycles. It was fun cycling around the temples.
Pattaya Pattaya Pattaya π»
There are some nice temples near and in Pattaya for those not wanting to venture too far from the bars!!
Weβre doing Bangkok for a few days on arrival then going βhomeβ to Takhli before heading to Pattaya- so weβll be having a day in Ayutthaya enroute s this was a very informative video and well timed. Cheers mate. Hope I bump into you in August mate and buy you a beer
Trevor, you could have looked on line and read up on the history of Ayutthaya before you travelled there. Basically Ayutthaya was the original capital of the kingdom of Siam and during one of many wars with Burma about 800 years ago it was raised to the ground so the Thai people had to move further south to what eventually became Bangkok. History lesson finishedπ
Thanks Trev, beautiful placeβ¦β¦as you say something differentβ¦.π
What a fantastic video. Something different cheers Trev
@32m βshort term shockerβ π
What about gyms and training some muay thai? any info?
You were right Trev….
"UK Visa requirements
If you are arriving by air or land you can enter Thailand without a visa (visa exemption) for the purposes of tourism, business engagements, urgent or ad-hoc work for up to 60 days. For more information, read the Thai governmentβs guidance on visas."
I was in Ayutthaya last December and it was a fun trip. There is quite a bit to see and a lot of history as well.
Great video something so different.π
Turn your WIFI off in your phone settings.
Are you able to use the 5G on your phone to create a private wi-fi hot spot that you can connect your laptop to? Mobile providers in the states charge extra for this, but it could be worth it in your situation
Would have been a nice walk from the hotel to that temple imho, I mean it's not that far!
Was there for 3 days in May. Loved the place. Something different and really interesting . Had dinner on the river twice in two amazing restaurants. Temples are superb. Good video mate . Cheers.
Yes Trev….Too Crowded to Visit….
Trevor you're always out and about. How do you keep up with such a hectic schedule plus manage a successful go go bar be married to a Thai honey, plus have time to be a billiard champ construction whiz as well as a great guy.
Well done great viewing.
My ex comes from Bang Pa-In, about 20 minutes from Ayutthaya. Really loved the area. Hope you get to visit the Kings Palace in Bang Pa-In.
Cheers, Trev! Nice to see different places, they say variety is the spice of life.
Went there 10 years ago and it was full of kids aswell was a very nice day out don't understand it like you even went with a thai girl
many times history its interesting and peace and quiet and what real thailand is rather than pattaya which is not real and fantasy. then get the boat back down the Chaoprayr river back to bangers and have a beer and relax. Thats a great trip with your wife mistress hire for the night whatever
Well done T. Really enjoyed that π
Interesting city. BTW, white shirt makes you look like a proper tourist / Farang!
Wow Trev that white shirt is fire!
I like the added music. Production is on the way up Trev. π₯
Wow! Ayutthaya is amazing! I already added the place to my list. When I return to Thailand. 100% β€β€β€
Salut Trev. Nice video.ππ
Hi Trev, excellent video π. If you go click the three lines top left of Google drive then click settings, scroll to the bottom of the settings to data usage and switch off the setting 'transfer files only over WiFi' that should do it
You know what's scary π the blades they use back then looks heavy
It's good to see a video showing what else Thailand has to offer.
Trev mate keep doing what ye doin … i actually remember you with 500 subs.. fuk the haters.. we all know where your thoughts are … i am not ringing that bellπ
I went there 15 years ago. I enjoyed walking around and learning the history of the place.
I visited many years ago on a day trip from Bangkok. Can't remember the names of the places but those ruins you went past at about 27:22 looked very familiar. Only have photos so hard to remember. Could be on for a return visit but with a tour guide. I hope you find some suitable night life for westerners.
Thanks, Trev, for the Beautiful and Informative Content!! Keep up the good work Mate!!π
15 baht on the train from Bangkok. There on to Lopburi then Phitsanulok. A decent week away.
Nakhon Sawan if you fancy.
Those ruins did nothing for me. The beers on the riverside are far more cultural.
enjoyed it
Take the river dinner cruise back to Bangkok
Thereβs a water market close by there. It has a crazy doll area where they have these giant anatomical statues that go off when you walk by and giant baby monk dolls. The actual market opens Friday to Sunday. You can feed the fish there too. You can walk the rest of the area though.
THANKS, The place is definitely on my list. SO MUCH MORE TO THAILAND THAN THE NIGHTLIFE.
Wow awesome Trev what a beautiful temple great work bringing this to the channel, another one to add to the bucket list cheers
Stayed in Thailand for 4 years during that time teached and lived in Aytthaya it's good because it's not dead like some parts of Thailand but it also isn't busy or western it's more like the real Thailand.
