Achomoran inaugurates 28 managers, supports female inclusion, literacy for leadership

The owners of commercial tricycles and commercial motorcyclists Amalgamati, Association of Nigeria (Aomoran), the chapter of the state of Ogun, inaugurated 28 new managers for the administration 2025-2030, underlining the importance of the literacy and the inclusion of women in the leadership.

At the inauguration ceremony held in the State of Ogun, the national president of Achomoran, Alhaji Samsudeen Apelogun, underlined the need to reposition the association through competent and polite leadership.

He said that all candidates looking for leadership roles within the Union must have at least one O’Level certificate.

“Anyone who wants to contest any position must have a school certificate. We must update,” said APELOGUN.

“The previous structure of the Union was seen as one for Tout. It is not too late to improve ourselves.”

In a progressive move towards gender inclusion, the president revealed that five women were included in the new executive council, marking a transition from the leadership dominated by men to a more inclusive structure.

He noticed that women now hold leadership positions also nationally.

Despite the emphasis on education, APELOGUN has announced a constitutional amendment that allows members without the O’Level certificate to hold certain not -leadership roles.

“The Constitution is made for humans; We can adjust it. But without O’Level, you cannot yet hold any leadership position in the association, “he said.

Apelogun also praised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the removal of the subsidy for fuel as a “bold and laudable” decision that shows empathy for the masses.

In his observations, the recently re -elected state president of Achomoran, Kayode Showunmi, expressed gratitude to the national leadership for his support and tutoring.

“His [Apelogun’s] Protectage, guide and unwavering support were the milestone of our successes, “he said.

He also recognized the cordial relationship between the association and the state government of Ogun, led by the governor Dapo Inhabitun, observing that he was mutually advantageous.

Also present at the event was the Hon. Igbalaye Wasiu Ayodele, a member who represents the electoral college of the state of the south of Abeokuta, who accused the Achomorant members of remaining respectful of the law and of using the roads responsibly.

The inauguration highlighted the renewed commitment of Achomoran for the professionalism, inclusiveness and development of leadership while trying to redefine the role of tricycle operators and motorcycles in the state of Ogun and beyond.
