Actor Jide Kosoko Appeals for politeness among colleagues who are at odds

Responding to concerns that developed on online disputes that often occur among several actors and actresses in the Nigerian film industry, veterans and industry elders Prince Jide Kosoko has made a passionate attraction for peace, maturity, and mutual respect.

Speaking on behalf of the elders and leaders who care in this industry, Prince Kosoko noted, “A bitter and open insult that we now see every day on social media does not represent the values we teach or the image that must be projected by our industry. This constant clash paints the old that we have painted.

According to him, this attraction applies mainly to female Yoruba actor, who is known to wash their dirty linen on social media. He reminded them that whatever they did today became the history of tomorrow, and as mothers and prospective grandmothers, they must be worried about what their inheritances they left for their children and grandchildren, warned that the internet did not forget.

“You might think that you are on a voyage or fun now, but in the coming years, the real fact of the damage that occurs will be clear, and unfortunately, your children will be there to see everything. Please, I attract all of you to stop this soon,” Kosoko said.

He further stated that those who were involved in the bitter fight in the past all stopped, asking about why “Now those we call our own children, who understand the culture of respect, who are involved in it”.

“One thing that I want you all to know is that it is not a bitter online fight that takes you to your place today but your professional skills. Don’t let anyone deceive you to think that this is you doing the name or success! You can make noise online but let it be on your work, your profession and the positive initiatives that you submit.”

He revealed that the elders and industrial leaders have been flooded with calls from fans, cultural leaders, and prominent Nigerians who expressed deep concern over the trend, which they described as national disorders and shame.

“We train a lot of you. We witnessed you to grow. And while we are proud of how far you have come, it hurts us to see the house we built with a conflict moved by the ego,” Kosoko added.

He reminded practitioners that they were public figures, cultural ambassadors, and role models, which were expected to uphold the values of respect, dignity, and discipline that defined Nigerian culture.

“Even those who have had disputes in the past have embraced peace. But this new wave has brought everything to a level that brings shame and uncomfortable for us all,” he said. “We encourage you to learn from your male colleague, which despite differences, has found adult ways to deal with conflict without public disgrace.”

Prince Kosoko encouraged the parties to the dispute to direct their energy towards personal growth, professional progress, and unity, emphasizing that public battles did not solve anything other than damaging all.

He further revealed that elders and leaders will immediately hold a round table meeting with individuals and stakeholders concerned to overcome all the problems that are peaceful.

“We ask everyone to respect this call when it comes. Anyone who chooses to ignore it will clearly choose divisions for peace, and destruction of growth. Whatever the problem, you will have the opportunity to express yourself and we will surely ensure friendly settlement.”

Finally, Kosoko convinced the public and all individuals who intended well that the elders actively worked behind the scenes to produce lasting solutions.

“We are committed to restoring order, dignity, and mutual respect for the industry. In a short time, the fruits of our efforts will be proven to be seen by everyone,” he concluded.
