I have been married for 33 years and I have a 29-year old daughter. I hope there is NO woman who in real life has the extremely low self esteem depicted in these skits. I think I’m even more anxious than my adult children about their weddings/marriage, perhaps because they are Americans.
Risky’s skits appear more realistic than Motunde’s as Risky actually interacts with the men in a hilarious way unlike Motunde who just introduces them to the dad with no context as to how each man came into her life.
It’s so sad that the Nigerian society idolizes weddings and marriage putting pressure on many women.
Hopefully this satire, among will contribute towards dismantling the obsession of the young women with marriage at any costs.
