ADC mission beyond securing power in 2027;- Markus

The National Chairperson of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, said on Tuesday the party’s mission exceeded the achievement of power in 2027.

Mark stated this during the inaugural meeting of the Party National Work Committee (NWC) in Abuja.

He added that the main purpose of ADC was to build a political heritage that would be proud to inherit future generations.

The former Senate president stressed that the party did not seek strength for itself, but to build a lasting heritage.

He said: “We are in a marathon; we must compete and win. Failure is not an option.”

He assured that ADC would be an institution “bigger than any personality, stronger than all the time” and positively different from any party in Nigerian history.

Mark described the party’s leadership as Pan-Africa, oriented to people, problem solving and sensitive to the needs of the people, including people with disabilities, retirees and vulnerable.

“The worshipers of this mission are respected leaders from every corner of our country who have freely to choose services rather than comfort.

“We have set aside a narrow interest for the common good. The path will be uphill; sacrifice will be prosecuted.

“Those who are threatened by democracy will reject it. However, we advance with Kalm, bravely, together as a tough team,” he said.

Mark also described ADC leadership standards as unusual, based on the four main pillars: character, competence, courage and discipline.

He stressed that the pillar will guide the party’s choice and form its culture.

The National Chair also outlines the new political blueprint for the party, anchored to the citizens first, the supremacy of the rules for personality, the party is open with an independent annual audit and services before loyalty.

“We must build a functional environment, local governments, and the structure of the country with trained organizers, digital registers and service tables.

“We will build a leadership pipe through academies, ethics, communication, and achievement-based delivery,” he concluded.
