ADC slammed the PDP government to hold a meeting in Zamfara in the midst of a new murder

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has strongly condemned the Governor of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for holding a political meeting in the state of Zamfara shortly after the armed man launched a deadly attack that killed dozens and the score was kidnapped.

The recent report from the state shows that armed groups attacked several communities, killed 24 people, injured 16, and kidnapped at least 144 residents in several regional government regions.

Apart from the tragedy, the Governor of PDP gathered in Zamfara on Saturday, August 23, for the scheduled meeting.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Secretary of the ADC National Publicity, Bolaji Abdullahi, described the step as “insensitive” and ignored the victims.

“Instead of the governor to unite around their colleagues who were surrounded to help stop the murder party, they chose to hold a political general meeting at the mass murder, even if it means stepping on the memory of the victims,” ​​the statement said.

Abdullahi further criticized the optics of the meeting, saying: “Photographs of the Governor of PDP with a full ceremony robe, grinning for cameras really not in place in an environment that still smells so much blood and sadness.”

ADC also accused the dominant parties of the country to prioritize politics of the welfare of the Nigerians.

“This action itself further underlines important facts: both the ruling APC and PDP that cannot be caused by their people and suffering. They only care about power and politics,” he said.

The statement did not set aside the President of the Tinubu Ball, blaming him for what the party called the party failed to take firm action on the unsafe that deteriorated in Zamfara and neighboring Katsina State neighboring countries.
