African Games 2031: NSC receives African Union Sports Council inspection team

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has officially welcomed the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) evaluation team to Nigeria as the country advances its bid to host the 15th African Games in 2031.

This was revealed today (Wednesday) in the NSC identifier X.

“The delegations are carrying out a comprehensive inspection of key sporting facilities, supporting infrastructure and overall readiness of Nigeria to host Africa’s premier multi-sport event,” the NSC stated.

“The visit marks a critical milestone in the tender process, in which technical experts will assess Nigeria against established continental hospitality standards.

“Nigeria’s bid is based on a clear vision, not only of hosting the Games, but also of achieving long-term impact through infrastructure development, youth participation and economic opportunities driven by sport.

“With a proven track record of hosting major international competitions and continued investments across the sporting ecosystem, the country is positioning itself as a strong and credible host.

“NSC leadership reaffirmed its commitment to present a compelling case, reflecting Nigeria’s capacity, organizational strength and ambition to deliver a world-class African Games experience.”
