Afrobasket: Nigeria d’Tigres Cruise in Q-Finali after the victory of Mozambique
Abidjan (Core reporter) defending the samples of Nigeria d’Tigress reacted from a setback of the first quarter to beat Mozambique in his second game to book their place in the quarter -final of the Fiba Afrobasket championship of 2025 in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire, Monday 28 July 2025.
The African champions lost the first quarter 13-9 points and marked the second quarter final 15-15 points before dominating the third and fourth quarter to ensure the hard victory of 60-55 points.
The game remembered the final match of the fourth between the two countries in the last 2023 tournament, where Nigeria won 59-52 points, after losing the first and second quarter.
The Nigerian girls took time to enter their rhythm against a very determined and aggressive Mozambican team that hoped to obtain a past of Egresses in the last seven meetings, dating back to 2013.
General manager of the National Sports Commission, NSC, Hon. Bukola Olopade, however, accused the girls of staying concentrated while approaching the end of the competition affairs, reminding them that the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is determined to reward them handsomely if they defend their African title for the fifth time in a row.

Basic journalists report that the victory over Mozambique has further stretched the unbeaten record of Nigerian women to the Fro -RoBasket to 26 consecutive victories from October 2015 and has moved another step forward towards achieving a fifth title of Afrobasket.
