Atalanta has introduced its 17 -year -old Nigerian defender in Italy Honesthhanor.
The former UEFA Europa League champions, who had signed Ahanor on July 4, 2025, presented the young man on Wednesday.
“Finding in the press conference room at the Bortolotti Center is the official presentation of Honest Ahanor,” Atalanta announced in a statement.
“The defender born in 2008 who signed a Permanent Agreement of Genoa, saw CEO Luca Percassi make the honor of the host and officially welcome white and blue.”
Speaking after the presentation of Ahanor, Percassi said: “We are proud to present it honestly. We have been following him closely for a long time, having crossed roads with him on several occasions at the youth level.
“He has always stood out for his great qualities in the countryside, and knowing him, he is pleasantly surprised with a maturity out of the field that goes far beyond his years.”

On the other hand, Ahanor revealed that it was obvious for him to choose Atalanta over other interested clubs.
“I am delighted to have joined a prestigious club like Atalanta,” said Ahanor.
“Receiving the trust that the Percassi family shows me, the sports director Tony D’Amico and the Jurić coach, who believed to take me to Bergamo, give me even more motivation. It was flattering to know that many higher clubs were interested, but I did not hesitate to choose Atalanta.”
Club, International career
Born in Aversa, Italy, Aharus is of Nigerian ancestry through his parents. He is eligible to represent Nigeria internationally through his parents.
As a youth player, Ahanor joined the Youth Academy on the Italian side Genoa. During the 2023/24 season, he played for teams under 15, under 16 and under 17 years old from the club.
He began his senior career with the Italian team of the series D Albisola. On August 9, 2024, first he made the team for the club during a 1-0 victory over Latte Dolce.
He helped the team secure a 2-2 draw against Napoli on May 11, 2025, scoring the first goal.
Game style
Ahaanor, who specifically interprets as a left side and is left standing, is known for his versatility. It can also operate as a center-center, central and extreme midfielder and is known for its speed and strength.
