Air Peace performs a free rescue flight for Abidjan, repatriated 78 busy Nigerian women – Topio

Continuing his inheritance of humanitarian intervention and national service, the largest carrier of West and central Africa, Air Peace Limited, embarked on a historic rescue mission on May 10, 2025, deploying a free evacuation flight for free loading airport of Félix Houphouët-Boigny, Abidjan, Côte di Vaire.

The flight, operated on the Boeing 737 aircraft of the airline with the 5N-BQV recording, left the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at 14: 14 hours to evacuate 78 Nigerian women who had fallen victims of the section of human beings in the Francophone Nation of West Africa.

The plane, with a capacity of seats of 130, remained behind Lagos at 22: 46 hours, transporting the women raised at home, many of whom had stroke stories of exploitation, abandonment and deception.

The rescue operation was inspired and led by the president and CEO of Air Peace tireless and focused on the nation, Dr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, whose reputation of patriotic altruism and compassionate nationalism was well beyond the coasts of Nigeria. In April, Dr. Onyema publicly promised to repatriate the busy women for free, offering them not only a safe return but also an medical and psychosocial support, an unusual gesture that is now satisfied.

“Traffic of human beings is a ruin for our shared humanity,” observed dr. Onyema at the airport while women land in Lagos. “These women have been attracted with promises and ended up in misery. Like an airline of the people, we cannot stand while the Nigerians suffer abroad. We will always take the opportunity, because love for the country and humanity must force action.”

The repatriation effort was the result of the collaboration between Air Peace, the business office of Chargée of Nigerian embassies in Abidjan and the Nigerian community in Ivory Coast, whose coordinated efforts ensured that women were documented and freed to travel.

Chief Michael Emeka ONWUCHEL, President of the Nigerian community in Costa D’Ivoire, praised Dr. Onyema and aerial peace for their altruistic intervention. “What Dr. Onyema has done is beyond the CSR: it is divine. For these women, this flight has been a miracle. At a time when many distort their gaze, Air Peace has chosen to act. The Nigerian community here is eternally grateful.”

Speaking on behalf of the Nigerian embassy in Abidjan, Mr. Paul Obi, a high officer in the Chargée affairs office of America, praised the reactivity of the airline. “It was a race against time. Many of these women were without documents, exposed to abuse and in terrible conditions.

This act of Air Peace and its president has restored dignity and hope. We met many diplomatic and logistical obstacles, but the support of the airline has made this feasible rescue. “

For Dr. Onyema, this mission is not one -off but part of a wider vision. “We will continue to endure the gap when the Nigerians are in difficulty, both in Africa and beyond. We will not only deal with flying planes; we are about to lift life. Our plane will always be available for noble causes. The suffering of our people anywhere in the world should concern all of us.”

The latter humanitarian flight is added to the long record of magnanimous interventions of Dr. Onyema. In 2019, he made global news after air peace evacuated 503 Nigerians captured in xenophobic violence in South Africa. During the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, his plane facilitated the repatriation of Nigerians blocked on several continents. In 2022, Air Peace conduct emergency evacuations during the Ukrainian-Russian crisis and in May 2023, transmitted 277 Nigerians fleeing the turmoil to Sudan.

Air Peace’s gesture in Abidjan not only reaffirms the operating excellence of the airline, but also his moral leadership in the aviation space. At a time when the social responsibility of companies often stop at financial donations, Dr. Allen Onyema and his airline are guiding the example: reducing what means to be a vector of flags: one who truly brings the charges of the nation.
