Air Peace takes up flight operations while Nimet workers call the strike – Thage

The largest carrier in West and central Africa, Air Peace, announced the resumption of all flight operations in force on Friday 25 April 2025, following the suspension of industrial action by the workers of the Nigerian meteorological agency (Nimet) and other unions in the aviation sector.

The head of corporate communications, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo of the airline expressed appreciation for its customers for their patience and support during interruption.

“We sincerely thank you for your patience, understanding and unwavering support during this demanding period. Your resilience and trust in our brand mean the world for us”, reads its declaration.

Air Peace has also praised the Mine of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, a Senior supporter of Nigeria, for his decisive intervention in resolving the strike.

“We praise the active and decisive intervention of the honorable minister, whose leadership and commitment were fundamental in resolving the impasse and restoring normality in the aviation sector,” said the airline.

According to the airline, Keyamo’s rapid commitment with the interested parties, the transparent approach to dialogue and dedication to the stability of the sector have shown its profound understanding of the critical role played in national development.

His efforts, he added, not only facilitated a timely resolution of the strike, but also strengthened his wider vision for a safer, more efficient aeronautical environment and for investors in Nigeria.

Air Peace was the only domestic carrier who suspended the operations during the two -day strike that started at midnight on Tuesday 22 April 2025, citing security problems.

The aviation experts say that the airline’s decision to stop the operations highlights its unwavering commitment for the safety, reliability and supply of world -level services.

The airline recommended passengers of reservations or requests to contact its customer support channels for assistance with reprogramming or specific flight concerns.
