President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Gcon has commensurate with the governor of the State of Kano, Mallam Abbru Kabiru Yusuf and the families of 21 members of the state that depend on the national sports festival just concluded in the state of Ogun.
Akpabio, who represented President Bola Tinubu at the closing ceremony of the Abeokuta games on Friday, sent his condolences on Sunday through a declaration signed by his special consultant for the media and advertising, Hon. EXEME EYIBOH.
He said: “It is with profound sadness that I received the news of the tragic death of over 20 members of the contingent of the State of Kano who participated in the National Sports Festival in the State of Ogun.
“On behalf of my family, the members, the Nigerian Senate and the entire national assembly, I extend my deepest condolences to your excellence, the governor Abbar Kabir Yusuf, the government and the people of the State of Kano.
“This devastating loss is a painful reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of giving priority to the safety and well -being of our citizens, in particular to our young people. We are solidarity with the families of the deceased and pray for their rapid healing and comfort in this difficult moment.
“They may be the souls of the deceased rest in peace and that their memories inspired us to work to create a safer and more favorable environment for all Nigerians.
“Once again, I offer my heartfelt condolences to the people of the State of Kano and the families of the deceased”.
