Akpoti-Uuduaghan denies apologizing to the Senate after the suspension

The deferred Kogi Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uuduaghan, has denied the claim that he apologized to the leadership of the Nigerian Senate for the actions that caused the suspension.

In a statement released on Monday, Akpoti-Uuduaghan described the report as “False and Misleading.”

MPs stated that he supported his actions and had not issued an apology to any senate or individual in a red room.

The Senate on March 7 suspected Akpoti-Uduaghan for violating the Red Room Rules.

This follows the accusations of sexual violence against the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.

He said: “The recognized report circulated that I had apologized to the senate and pulled back my position at all.

Senator also expressed concern for what he described as a deliberate effort to distort facts and mislead the public.

According to him, the challenge he faced was not only personally but showed a greater struggle for the integrity of Nigeria democracy.

“I urge the community to ignore this rumor and publication because they do not represent my position. My commitment remains to the truth, justice, and the people that I represent.

“This is not just about me; this is about the integrity of our democracy. I will not be intimidated or forced to be handed over through fake narratives,” said Akpoti-Uuduaghan.
