Aminu Kano (AKTH), Kano. Has established the first laundry school and the first drycleaning technology in Nigeria.
Schools that previously developed maggot therapy, now training students about how to wash the linen of hospital beds, blankets and dresses worn by the operating team. School graduates are awarded the National Diploma (ND) in laundry technology and dry cleaning. The higher national diploma program (HND) is said to be able to follow.
The National Council for Technical Education (NBTE) has accredited the Laundary monotechnical curriculum and federal drycleaning for five years.
This school was originally established to train the staff of a canoe -based teaching hospital in technology and laundry service skills and dry cleaning for Aminu Kano Hospital.

NBTE agreed that up to 60 students could be accepted per session by the school through the Joint Acceptance and Matriculation Council. Candidates must meet the credit tickets needed in science.
The school authority said that most of their students were sponsored by the Hospital of Education, the Federal Medical Center and the State Health Ministry. And that some people are individuals who are sponsored by themselves who choose a career in laundry and drycleaning services.
Principal, Mohammed Kabir Ahmad said a former governor from the northern state sponsored 150 young people to school. They were trained, awarded a diploma and each was given two washing machines to start laundry and drycleaning services professionally.
