The former security director of the deceased General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza al-Mustapha (Retd.), He formally declared his intention to challenge the presidential elections of 2027 under the Social Democratic Party platform (SDP).
Al-Mustapha made the announcement on Tuesday during a strategic meeting with the ESDP executive committee and Minna’s supporters, the capital of the Niger state.
Giving himself to the meeting, Al-Mustapha expressed a profound concern for the current state of Nigeria, reaffirming his determination to serve the country and guide him towards the transformation.
“They are pain and deeply worried about the current state of the nation.
“However, with the right direction and commitment, Nigeria can rise again. Although the way to go can be difficult, together we can reconstruct the Nigeria that we all deserve,” he said.
He described the meeting as part of a wider national consultation in view of the general elections of 2027, noting that his declaration was a step towards the collection of collection for a new vision of the leadership.
A declaration by Jubril Umar Sanda, director of the media and tic for the campaign, confirmed that Al-Mustapha is “fully prepared for the trip in sight, ready to serve with integrity, courage and a clear plan for progress”.
As part of his visit to the State of the Niger, Al-Mustapha also traveled to Mokwa to commiserate with the victims of a recent flood disaster that has chosen over 200 people and caused damage to significant property.
He underlined the urgent need for reactive leadership, national unity and practical solutions to the most urgent challenges in the country.
The President of the State of the SDP, Buhari Yakubu Yarima, welcomed the declaration, describing Al-Mustapha as a public employee engaged with the credentials to be guided.
“We are confident that with credible candidates and a clear vision, the SDP will be a strength to deal with in 2027,” said Yarima.
