The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday directed its state and zonal coordinators to intensify grassroots mobilization promoting President Bola Tinubu’s political achievements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, national coordinator of the party’s Renewed Hope Ambassadors network, issued the directive during the group’s fourth strategy meeting in Abuja.

The meeting followed an earlier session organized by the Progressive Governors Forum in February at the Presidential Villa, attended by President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The network is designed to spread President Tinubu’s Renewed Agenda of Hope at the community level under a unified strategy: “One Party, One Message, One Mobilization Structure”.

“This tool is designed to create national awareness, help citizens understand the reasons for the President’s reforms, educate them on their need and inform them of the benefits as they flow in,” Governor Uzodimma said.

He credited President Tinubu for courageously implementing reforms to reposition Nigeria’s economy and warned that opposition parties are resorting to disinformation to undermine development agendas.

“If we do not adequately inform the people, this government will be misunderstood,” Governor Uzodimma stressed.

He called for unity in the ambassador network, capitalizing on the ruling party’s support from 31 governors already within it.

The Imo State governor also highlighted pre-Tinubu challenges: failed subsidy removal attempts by previous presidents, minimum wage at N30,000 and millions of children out of school.

Uzodimma noted the progress: “As I speak to you, as I did last time, we have more than one million students trained through the government’s NELFUND (National Education Loan Fund) programme. And this could not have happened without the various reform policies.”

He added that rice prices have dropped from almost N120,000 per bag two years ago to about N50,000 currently.

All this, he stressed, must be communicated to Nigerians and the progress made by government in improving their lives.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State – Deputy Director General and Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, in their separate remarks supported the position, expressing confidence that leading members of the group would convince Nigerians of the APC’s fulfillment of promises when they assume power in 2023.

Specifically, Kaduna State Governor Sani called for amplifying the successes of the Tinubu administration at the subnational level, such as improving primary healthcare and other grassroots outreach interventions.

Gombe Governor Inuwa Yahaya urged coordination: “synergy would help our tasks to more easily spread the successes of this administration, including the fight against insecurity in the north-east,” he added.
