Amosun’s wife, other descendants honorable EGBA Warlord, head of Ogunbona, on the 164th anniversary of the memorial in Abekuta

The wife of the former governor of the State of Ogun, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun, Wednesday was joined to other descendants of the venerated ladies of the war of EGBA and Balogun of Ikija, head of Ogunbon AgbokeToyinbo Mosuuleka, to commemorate his 164th commemorative anniversary in Abekuta, Ogun State.

The ceremony, held at the ancestral complex of the family in the historic Ikija area of ​​the capital of the State, brought together different generations of the Ogunbon AgbokeToyinbo dynasty, which gathered to pay homage to their lasting legacy of their ancestor in the history of EGBA.

The prominent personalities of the event included the publisher of the Alaroye newspaper, Prince Alao AdeDayo; The ASIWAJU ONIGBAGBO of the local government of the south of Abeokuta, Prince Oluwallogbon Enilolobo; And the current head of the family, Prince Rotimi Meadows Ogunbona, among others.

The commemoration presented guided interreligious prayers both from Islamic and Christian clerics, who praised the service life of the deceased warrior to the EGBA people and urged his descendants to support the values ​​of units, leadership and sacrifice he represented.

Speaking during the Islamic session, the Imam Maruf Ogunbona described the Ogunbon head as a visionary leader whose commitment to peace and development has helped to model the socio-political panorama of Egbaland.

From a Christian point of view, the reverend Johnson Ajayi of the Anglican Church of San Giuda, Iberekodo, highlighted the contribution of the deceased head to the propagation of Christianity in the region.

He observed that the Ogunbona leader provided support for the first missionaries and helped to encourage religious harmony.

Giving himself to journalists, Mrs. Amosun expressed pride for her inheritance and praised the long -standing unit of the family.

“It is absolutely surprising that this family has remained united for 164 years. Our great -grandfather, head of Ogunbona AgbokeToyinbo, has left behind a legacy of courage, service and union. We must continue to support these values ​​and maintain the flag of the Flag family,” he said.

Mrs. Amosun, who comes from the lineage of Ogunmakinde of the dynasty, tracked down her roots through her maternal grandmother, the first daughter of Ogunmakinde – one of the children of the legendary Balogun.

The annual ceremony of the memory has become a unifying tradition for the expansive family, celebrating not only the legacy of one of the historical figures of prominent EGBA, but also by strengthening the ties between generations.
