Former Nigerian track and field athlete Annette Echikunwoke threw a season-high 75.48 meters to claim the silver medal in the hammer throw for Team USA on Tuesday in Paris.
The athlete settled for silver after her third throw was beaten by Canada’s Camryn Rogers, who threw 76.97 metres to claim gold.

Echikunwoke’s victory made her the first American woman to win a medal in the hammer throw.
Recall that Echikunwoke switched his allegiance to the US after a mix-up with the Nigeria Athletics Federation that denied him the opportunity to compete for his Nigeria at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
