He recorded 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists, raising hopes that Greece will advance to the next round after losses to Canada and Spain in its first two games.

“I feel very good. We competed well in all three games. The first two games didn’t go our way. But I think even against one of the best teams in the tournament, Canada, third in the world last year, we competed very hard and played great basketball,” he said.

“So, I was proud of the team and the way we competed against Spain, obviously it wasn’t as focused.

“I think in the second half we were more focused, we defended better, we played faster, we found all the shots, we found those baskets and we competed, I think to the best of our abilities against the best European team, which was Spain two years ago.”
