A defense group, Aqsah Nigeria, gathered support for Palestine in Abokuta, in the state of Ogun, asking for justice on what he described as a genocide by the Israeli government.
The event, held under the Sapon bridge to mark the annual Aqsah Day, has aroused a large gathering of Muslim faithful, activists and sympathizers who sang solidarity songs such as “Free Palestine … from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”.
Discourses, prayers and lessons have dominated the program, highlighting all the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and in other occupied territories.
Driving his key speech, the president of the occasion and the CEO of the Hob Medical Center, Abeokuta, Dr. Lukman adophuye, has condemned the persistent attacks of Israel to civilians, hospitals and schools.
“Israel is destroying hospitals, schools and even disturbing the dead. This is an act against humanity, and this is why people of every social class – including Pope, activists, Christians and defenders of human rights – are condemning him,” said Adfuye.
He observed that solidarity for Palestine has grown beyond religious lines, underlining that Nigerian political figures such as Fani-Kayode and Reno Omokri femi have openly supported the cause.
“What runs approaches. The purpose of this meeting is to illuminate and support the need to be with the oppressed, so that if it is our turn tomorrow, we too will be protected,” he added.
The highlight of the event was a lesson entitled “Gaza’s future in The Face of World Politics” held by Dr. Musadiq Fadeyi, a doctor and an NGO expert.
Dr. Fadeyi described Gaza not only as a territory but as “the consciousness of the world”, underlining that its future will be a decisive test of global policy.
“When we talk about Gaza, we don’t talk about geography alone. We are talking about history. We are talking about humanity. And we talk about the consciousness of the world,” he said.
By tracing the historical crises of the region from the 1948 Nakba to the six -day war of 1967, Fadeyi portrayed Gaza how “both a house and a prison, both a battlefield and a symbol”.
He also painted a gloomy picture of the humanitarian situation, citing serious electricity deficiencies, too tense hospitals, high unemployment and children who grow in constant conflict.
“This is not simply a humanitarian crisis. It is a human crisis. And if politics forget the people, then politics itself has failed,” said Fadeyi.
According to him, Gaza’s future remains uncertain, which goes from infinite blocks and wars to the possibility of a two-states solution-o even further movement and fragmentation.
“The future of Gaza is not just a test of Middle Eastern politics; it is a proof of world politics. It is more than this – it is a proof of our moral policy,” he said.
The organizers of Aqsah Day described the event as a platform for lighting, defense and prayer, reaffirming their commitment to continue to mobilize the support for the oppressed in Palestine.
