Armed men kidnap the university staff

Armed people on Monday night kidnapped two staff of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) at Ondo State.
This duo was kidnapped from their residence in Akungba-Akoko, the area of the Southwest Akoko Regional Government in the state.

One of the victims, Mr. Omonyi Eleyinmi, is a faculty officer at the Faculty of Education and Members of the University of Nigeria University Senior Staff Association (SSANU).
Eleyinmi was kidnapped around 19:00 at his home located in Supare-Akoko Road, Akungba-Akoko.

Spokesman for the State Police Command, Sports Ayanlade, confirmed the incident to journalists on Tuesday at Akure.

He said: “Yes, two AAUA staff were kidnapped by armed people suspected of being kidnappers. However, our people responded quickly and were able to save one of them.

“Police Commissioners have directed that the saved individuals were asked by the possibility of intelligence who could help in our sustainable efforts to save the remaining people.”
