Asari-Dokubo unhappy with Tinubu siding with Wike over Fubara, opposing president (Video)

The cordial relationship between former Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo and President Bola Tinubu may have completely collapsed as he has been constantly attacking the president of late.

Previously, Dokubo was one of the president’s strongest supporters and had threatened to take action against anyone who attacked or spoke badly about him.

Their relationship was so close that Dokubo was even invited to Aso Rock Villa and given the undue privilege of addressing the press from State House, an act condemned by many Nigerians.

At one point, Dokubo made a video in which he showed off his militants and challenged anyone to come out and insult the president.

However, one year after Tinubu was inaugurated, the relationship appears to have frayed as Dokubo continues to complain of neglect at the hands of Tinubu, despite the sacrifices he made to gain power.

Dokubo also lamented how Tinubu had shown his preference for former Rivers State Governor and current Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, who has been locked in a bitter battle with his successor, Siminilayi Fubara.

In a video posted on social media on Wednesday night, Dokubo, speaking directly to Tinubu, said the president should also consider his feelings or he would prioritize his Ijaw people over his friends.

“Mr. President must also respect my feelings. I am an Ijaw. If the President chooses Wike and does not respect my feelings, if anything happens, do not call me,” he said.

“I support him, but there will come a time when I have to choose between my people and my friend. Fubara is a no-go area. Fubara has given me money, you can say that. Why do politicians follow Wike? Because Wike has given money.

“They say Fubara is like chewing gum, so if I choose to follow the chewing gum and leave POS Africa, that shows what it means. POS Africa will never give up. He will never give up. Why won’t he give up? Because it’s not his money that’s going to cost him.”
