At least 59 Palestinians were reported dead after the Israeli military fired near the aid center in Gaza and strikes throughout the region.

The Red Cross, which operates a field hospital in Rafah, said 25 people “were declared dead at the time of arrival” and “six died after entering” following a shot near the aid distribution center in the city of South Gazan.

Humanitarian organizations added that he also received 132 patients “suffered injuries related to weapons” after the incident.

The Red Cross said: “Most of these patients suffered gunshot wounds, and all individuals who were responsive reported that they tried to access the location of the food distribution.”

The organization said the number of deaths marked “the entry of the largest death in the hospital” since it began operating in May last year.

Israeli defense forces (IDF) said it fired “warning shots” near the location of the distribution of aid but as a result “was not aware of the injured people”.

It was said in a statement: “Previously today, several suspects were identified approaching IDF troops operating in the Rafah area, a threat to troops, hundreds of meters from the distribution site of aid.

“IDF troops operate to prevent the suspects from approaching them and opening warning shots.”

‘Mass Murder Policy’

Hassan Omran, a paramedic with the Gaza Ministry of Health, told Sky News after the incident that the Humanitarian Assistance Center in Gaza was now the “Mass Death Center”.

Speaking at Khan Younis, he said: “Today, there are more than 150 injuries and more than 20 martyrs at the aid distribution center … Israeli occupation deliberately killed and carried out genocide. The Israeli occupation carried out mass murder policies.

“They call people to come to get everyday food, and then, when residents arrive at these centers, they are killed in cold blood.

“All victims have a gunshot wound to the head and chest, which means the enemy committed this crime on purpose.”

Israel has rejected the accusation of genocide and denied targeting civilians.

‘Lies are sold’

Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a controversial US group and supported by Israel who operates a distribution center near Rafah, said: “Hamas claims there is violence at the distribution location of our assistance today. Wrong.

“Once again, there are no incidents in or around our site.

“But that did not stop some of the lies sold by ‘officials’ at the Nasser Hospital controlled by Hamas.”

The Red Cross said the field hospital in Rafah had recorded more than 250 deaths and cared for more than 3,400 “patients equipped with weapons” since the location of the new food distribution was established in Gaza on May 27.

Israel has carried out an attack on Gaza since the militant led by Hamas killed around 1,200 people and took 251 hostages on October 7, 2023.

Hamas still has 50 hostages, with less than half which is believed to be still alive, after most of the remaining released in a ceasefire agreement or other agreement.

The Israeli attack in Gaza has killed more than 57,000 Palestinians, more than half of women and children, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, who did not distinguish between civilians and fighters in their calculations.

US President Donald Trump said he approached another ceasefire agreement that would make more hostages released and potentially end the war.

But after two days of discussion this week with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, there were no signs of breakthrough.

MR Musallet’s family, from Tampa Florida, has asked the US Department of Foreign Affairs to lead “immediate investigation”.

A spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs said they knew the incident but had no further comments “because they respect the privacy of the family and loved ones” of the reported victims.

The Israeli military said the confrontation broke out after Palestine threw stones at Israel, lightly injuring them.

He added that the military said the troops were sent to the scene and used unlutary weapons to dissolve the crowd.
