The Independent National Election Commission (Inec) has scheduled additional elections for August 21 in five voting units from the constituents of the southern state assembly Kaura Namoda in the state of Zamfara.
Commissioner of Resident Election, Dr. Mahmud Isah, revealed this during the stakeholder meeting in Gusau on Tuesday.
Isah explained that the re -impression became necessary after the August 16 August selection was declared inconclusive because of irregularities that caused the cancellation of results in several voting units.
According to him, the additional elections will take place in three voting units in the Kyambarawa Ward – Shiyar Magaji (Kofar Hamza) 002, Switches (Sabuwar Kasuwa) 009, and Kofar Fafa (Shiyar Fada). This will also hold two voting units in the Sakajiki Ward – Alko (Shiyar Kudu) 002 and Shiyar Nufawa (Kofar MD Nuhu) 007.
It will be remembered that Inec on August 16 stated that the BYE selection was not convincing after the results of the affected voting unit were canceled.
The official who returned, Prof. Lawal Sa’adu from Federal University, Gusau, gave further details about the process.
“The commission has registered 5,446 voters in two fields with 3,265 PVC collected. The results were announced after the cancellation showed that the Congress of all Progressive (APC) received 7,001 votes, while the Democratic Party (PDP) won 5,339 votes,” Sa’adu said.

Inec said his decision to declare exercise that was not convincing was guided by the provisions of the Election Law.
