Bandit suspected of Fulani’s militia reportedly killed a father and his two sons in Zogu Village in the Miango District in the Bassa Regional Government in the State of the Highlands.
The latest attack on the community confirmed by a spokesman for the Irigwe Development Association (IDA), Sam Jugo in a statement on Sunday, occurred on Saturday when the armed bandits invaded the village and killed the victims whose names were given as Weyi Gebeh (56), Zhu Weyi (25) and Henry Weyi (16).
According to Jugo who described the murder as savage and unreasonable, the victims said killed while they were sleeping in their homes.
“The leadership of the Iriigwe Development Association (IDA) has been notified of other attacks on the village of Zogu, Miango, who claimed the lives of a father and two sons, namely: Weyi Gebeh, 56 years old; Zhu Weyi, 25; and Henry Weyi, 16,” Jogu said in a statement available for journals.

“This new event brought nine deaths that were recorded this week. Ida expressed his greatest displeasure in the worsening situation in Irigwe’s land and called for security agents to do whatever was needed to stop this barbarism in our land and make the perpetrators arrested to face justice.
“The way of criminal elements attacks our homeland and killing with impunity seems to show motifs that are more scary than just retaliation.
“Therefore, Ida asked the government of the highlands and security for those who need and stop the murder of innocent people in the land of Irigwe,” he said.
