Bandits invaded a house late on Thursday, August 29, and shot dead a man, before kidnapping his wife and children. The incident occurred in Ushafa community in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). A police source confirmed the incident to DailyTrust but did not elaborate. Ushafa is one of the communities that have been attacked amid the ongoing widespread insecurity in Nigeria. The development comes after SBM Intelligence, an Africa-focused market intelligence/security consultancy firm, claimed that Nigerians paid N1.048 billion as ransom to kidnappers between July 2023 and June 2024.
