Ahiara, Adiazu Mbaise – In a strongly contested election held on Easter Monday, bar. Charles Onyirimba of Umunnachi, Nnarambia Ahiara, emerged as the newly elected general president of the Union of Development of the Nnarambia (NDU).
The elections took place at the Ahiara podium next to the central school, drawing a large turnout of indigenous and interested parties. Bar. Onyirimba has conquered the victory in the midst of a high anticipation, reporting a new chapter for the union.
Hon. Chidi Jemanus Oledinma was elected secretary of the union, being part of the new leadership team that is established to guide the affairs of the NDU.
The return officer, the leader Reginald Odunze, officially declared the results in the presence of the president of the local government area of Adiazu Mbaise, the chief Larry Chikwe and a myriad of leaders and residents of the community.
The atmosphere was festive, since the members of the community expressed optimism for the future of the Union under the new leadership.
Bar. Onyirimba, in his short observations, thanked the people for their support and promised to promote unity, progress and sustainable development in Nnarambia.
