Bayelsa: former Unipport students celebrate Diri

The schoolmates of the Governor of the State of Bayelsa, Senator Douye Diri, at the University of Port Harcourt (Unport) in the State of Rivers, recognized his exceptional performance in office and have awarded him a prize of excellence.

Tuesday, former Unipport students gave the Bayelsa Governor prize at the Government House, Yenagoa, in recognition of its performance in the development of sustainable infrastructures and inclusive governance in the State.

The body includes former students of the institution in the 80s.

The Coordinator of the management committee of the 80s Unport, Ben-Jamin Willie, in his observations, said that the Governor has obtained the prize due to his commendable performance in different sectors, and in particular for the management of an inclusive government in the appointment of non-indigenous people and members of the opposition party in his toilet.
