A former Deputy Chairperson of the National Democratic Party (PDP), Head of Olabode George, has accused the plan by tribal chiefs of manipulating the upcoming party congress in the state of Lagos.
George, in an open letter to the National Chairperson of the PDP, Amb.umar Damagum, on Friday, accused the Deputy National Secretary, Mr. Setonji Koshoedo, controls the distribution of forms to hijack the congress.
Koshoedo represented the state of Lagos at the National Work Committee of PDP (NWC).
The former Military Governor of the State Ondo urged the party’s top decision making organs to prevent the crisis that might be in front of the ward and local government congress in the state.
He said: “It is very worrying that Koshoedo, who has not been involved in party activities in the state, either financially or vice versa, collect forms for the congress and decide to be alone in determining the modus operandi to distribute forms.
“Strangely, he was not aware of the efforts of party leaders to build consensus among party members in various local governments, efforts that had begun to bear fruit.
“Koshoedo, with his actions, has brought acrimonials and situations that can cause chaos, disruption of public peace, and court actions.”

George questioned the alleged PDP leadership lawyer in Lagos, who had two members of the Supervisory Council (BOT) in determining the modus operandi for the Congress in the state.
He described the action as unacceptable, insulting, and unfair.
“We will never let this happen again in our state.
“We fired this early warning shot to prevent actions that would cause political upheaval in the state.
“We ask you to use your good office to improve this situation before it increases,” said the Chief of the PDP.
