Former Deputy Chairperson of the Democratic Party (PDP), Head of Olabode George, on Wednesday asked former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Federal Capital Minister (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to leave the party immediately for the alleged anti-party activities.
George, in a statement in Lagos, said the party was ashamed of the open appearance of all the progressive congress (APC) by the two men.
He accused the Head of the PDP Hobnobbing tribal with other parties, said they could not continue to claim the membership of the Main opposition party with this new action.
He said: “What exactly happened? Someone was bored with PDP who had to go and join another party. This was quite embarrassing.
“As an elder founder of this party, I will not watch while some people openly do not respect the party. That is impossible.”
George wondered why Atiku and several others visited the former President of Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna.
He also blamed what he called the open support of the President of the Tinubu ball by several PDP governors and party leaders before the 2027 election.
“Nigeria misses changes, which can only be offered by PDP because we are the only organized party.
“This is the time for the PDP national leadership to take decisive steps to save our great party.
“As a member of the founder of our party and statesman, I call other elders from our party to call Atiku and Wike to order, because both are not bigger than PDP.
“They cannot continue to play with the enemies of our parties and think I will be quiet.
“The truth must be told at any time without controlling the cow that is carried.
“This is the time to save our party from those who damaged PDP from within,” said the former Military Governor of Ondo.
George also blamed Atiku’s involvement in the coalition to shift Tinubu.
He insisted that if Abubakar was working on a coalition with others because of 2027, he had to do it outside the party structure.
“You cannot be inside and work against the interests of this party. We will never allow it.
“This is the time for our party’s leadership to use a large stick because there is nothing stronger than the party.
“When we remove obligations in our party, we will be in a formidable position, as an opposition party, to take over power from APC at the federal level in 2027,” he concluded.
