Bohemian FC’s Simone Reilly is eager to fulfil her dream of playing for Nigeria at the U-20 Women’s World Cup

Simone Reilly, a promising Bohemian FC striker, has expressed her excitement and long-standing dream of playing for the Nigerian national football team.

Reilly, who has been invited to join the provisional squad for the U-20 Women’s World Cup, is eager to seize the opportunity and represent Nigeria on the world stage.

Selected by coach Chris Musa Danjuma, Reilly is one of 12 forwards chosen for the upcoming tournament in Colombia.

Born to an Irish father and a Nigerian mother, Reilly has always felt a deep connection to her Nigerian heritage and is determined to wear the green and white jersey with pride.

“I am very happy with my experience with the Falconets team,” Reilly shared. “It has always been my dream to play for Nigeria.

“Despite being eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland, Nigeria has always been my first choice. I am working very hard to convince my coaches and my goal is to be part of the final squad for the World Cup in Colombia.”

Nigeria’s U-20 team, known as the Falconets, will face tough competition in Group D, which includes three-time champions Germany, South Korea and Venezuela. The U-20 Women’s World Cup is scheduled to take place in three Colombian cities from August 31 to September 22.

Reilly’s inclusion in the provisional squad is a testament to her talent and dedication. As she battles to secure a place in the final squad, she hopes to make a significant impact for Nigeria at the tournament. If selected, Reilly’s participation would mark an important milestone in her career and fulfil her dream of representing Nigeria on the world stage.
