KWARA UTD defeated Abakaliki FC with a penalty to win the Presidential Federation Cup

Kwara United secured the crown of their first president’s federation cup on Saturday, defeating Abakaliki FC in a tense penalty shootout in Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.

After 90 minutes without a goal, the match was decided from the place, with the harmony of a boy who swung Abakaliki FC 4-3 in a shootout.

The historical victory not only gave Kwara United the coveted title but also saw them qualified for the Caf Confederations Cup next season, with Abia Warriors.

Earlier that day, Rivers Angels defended their women’s title, also won through a penalty against Nasarawa Amazon in the category of women.
