The Decision of the Congress of All Progressive (APC) has appointed the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, Yilwatda Nentawe, as the new national chairman of the substantive.
The decision was made during the 14th National Executive Committee meeting (NEC), which was held at the State Building Conference Center in Abuja on Thursday.
The announcement occurred after the Governor hoped that Uzodimma from the IMO State, who also served as Chairman of the Progressive Governor Forum, moved a motion that supported the height of Nentawe to the top party position.
The motion received direct support from the speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and in a round voice was adopted by NEC.

After confirmation, Nentawe was immediately inaugurated, taking the oath of office at 14:50, before top party leaders, government officials, and stakeholders.
Yilwatda Nentawe, who came from the state of Plateau in the North Central Geopolitical Zone, was a candidate for the APC Governor in the 2023 general election before being appointed as Minister.
The emergence as a national party chairman indicates a new phase in the APC leadership structure, because it prepares political involvement that will come throughout the country.
