Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen has agreed a loan deal to join Turkish representatives in this season’s UEFA Champions League Galatasaray, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

The 25-year-old, who has been involved in a transfer dispute with Napoli, will spend the entire season on loan at the Turkish side, who have agreed to pay his €10m-a-year salary for the duration of his loan, which ends at the end of the season with no option to sign him permanently.

Osimhen arrived as an emergency replacement for their main striker Mauro Icardi, who will be out of action for a while due to a terrible injury. Osimhen is expected to arrive in Turkey later today for a routine medical after Napoli agreed to his loan move.

Sky Sports reports that Osimhen, whose transfer to Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli and later Chelsea on transfer deadline day was unsuccessful, has already given his approval to the move.

Osimhen will leave for Nigeria on Wednesday, where he will take part in the senior national team’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda on September 7 and 10 respectively.
