British Airways grounded the plane, apologizing for the hitch

British Airways has grounded its plane at Murtala International Airport in Lagos due to a technical fault.

However, the airline has apologized to its passengers and the country’s aviation authorities for the flight disruption.

The airline’s Regional Commercial Manager, Nigeria and Ghana, Mrs. Tutu Otuyalo, told journalists on Friday that the airline would cover accommodation and food costs for affected passengers.

He said most of the passengers had been accommodated on other flights, while the airline’s team was continuing to work hard to book the remaining passengers on flights as soon as possible.

British Airways flight number BA 74 scheduled to depart Lagos for Heathrow, London, at 22:50 on Wednesday experienced technical problems.

The flight was rescheduled and then canceled due to technical problems.

Otuyalo said: “We will cover accommodation and meal costs for customers.

“We will never operate a flight unless it is safe to do so. Most of the affected passengers have been re-accommodated to other flights.

“We have contacted our customers to apologize for the delays to their flights caused by technical problems with the aircraft.”
