Brothers and sisters of the Wassce candidates led the criminal to beat the VP for preventing the Malpractice of the Examination

Deputy Principal from Private High Schools in Akure, Ondo State Capital which was identified as Mr. Rotifa has been reported to be beaten into porridge by thugs rented by the mother of a student after he took strict steps to prevent malpractice during the ongoing West African senior school certificate examination (Wassce) at the college.

The Ministry of State Education Ondo also confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Monday.

The statement reads:

“The initial report of the state government investigation regarding the attack of the Deputy Principal, conducted by the School Director, the Ministry of State Education Ondo, stated that the Android phone was found from SS 3 students during the exam.

“The incident began on May 26, when an Android phone was found with one SS 3 student who was in conflict with the rules and regulations of schools and Mr. Rotifa, the Deputy Principal took a telephone from him.

“On Thursday, the mother of the student came to school to fight with school management so that the school owner ordered that the telephone be returned to him, which was carried out.

“Student brothers, who happen to be an old school student, then come to school to harass the deputy principal and threaten to handle it.

“After school hours, some boys were seen roaming on the road, and the owner was told, who told Roalifa to go to the police station to submit complaints.

“He left, and two police officers took him into their van to look for children, maybe to catch them. They could not get them. On the way back to the station, the children hit the police van, stopped him, issued a Roalifa and beat him. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

“Further investigations and efforts to make the culprit are ongoing. Settings for the safety of staff and school students for the remaining paper period in Wassce are ongoing.”
