Caa Africa U18/U20 Athletics Championship: NSOLS announces ₦ 1 million for gold, ₦ 750k for silver and ₦ 500k for bronze_
Abeokuta (Core Reporter) National Sports Commission (NSC) has announced cash prizes of ₦ 1,000,000 for each gold medal, ₦ 750,000 for silver and ₦ 500,000 for bronze medals won by the Nigeria Athletes teams at the Caa Africa U18/U20 AthleticsPhionup ongoing, in Abekuta.
The announcement came during the 2nd day of the championship, Thursday, where the president of the NSC Mallam Shehu Dikko and the general director Hon. Bukola Olopade looked at the action from the stands.
The two administrators, visibly enhanced by the star performances of the Nigerian contingent, have lost time to reveal the financial incentives to further increase morale.
The president of the NSC, Mallam Shehu Dikko, applauded the dedication of the athletes and underlined the importance of immediate motivation:
“Look at the way our athletes have performed in this championship, you will see that the commitment and dedication in their faces and we will not stop to give our athletes all the reasons to always want to compete for our great country.”
“We will reward them for every medal that win in this championship and I also want to take advantage of this opportunity to load them to continue to make the country proud.”
In addition, the general manager of the NSC and the president of the local organizational committee, Hon. Bukola Olopade, praised the efforts of the Nigeria team and reiterated the importance of the well -being of athletes:
“We must always take care of our athletes and when we do it, they will take care of us by winning medals, which is what we are witnessing this championship.”
“In reality we are building these young athletes for the future and the next Commonwealth games and the Los Angeles Olympic Games.”
Officials of the Athletic Federation have declared that with this timely incentive, the NSC continues to demonstrate its commitment to cultivate young talents and strengthen the performances of Nigeria in the global athletics phase.
