Canadian police arrest Nigerian who threatened to poison Yoruba tribe

Police in Canada have arrested Amaka Patience Sunnberger, the woman who threatened to poison the Yoruba and Benin communities in Nigeria.

The woman last boasted in a video that she could not be arrested or prosecuted because she was a Canadian citizen.

Toronto police said in a statement posted on their website Sunday that Sunnberger was arrested the same day following an investigation into online content he posted on Aug. 25, which “threatened violence against certain members of the Nigerian community.”

In a statement titled: “Woman Arrested in Alleged Hate-Motivated Threat Investigation,” police said the 46-year-old woman will appear in Ontario Court of Justice on Monday for allegedly making hate-motivated threats against the Nigerian community.

The statement read: “Toronto Police have arrested a woman in connection with an investigation into an alleged hate-motivated threat. The arrest followed a report received on August 28, 2024, of a threatening incident.
