The Champions of the Premier League of Scottish Celtic Football Club have confirmed the signature of the Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho in a one -year contract, subject to international authorization. The agreement also includes an option for another year.
The 27 -year -old joins the Glasgow giants as a free agent after the termination of his contract with Seville after the closure of the summer transfer window.
Iheanacho, who won the Golden Ball and Golden Boot in the FIFA World Cup U17 2013, has had a difficult period in Spain since Leicester City moved to Seville in the summer of 2024. He fought for the game time on the side of the league and spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan in Middlesbrog in the English championship.
Now ready for a new beginning in Scotland, Super Eagles Striker will seek to rediscover its shape and have a strong impact on Celtic Park.
Celtic sees the signing as an impulse to their attack options while aiming to defend their domestic crown and advance in European competitions this season.
