CG Customs, Adeniyi, has dismissed reports of age falsification

The Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Bashir Adeniyi, has described claims of age falsification as baseless.

In a statement issued on Friday, Adeniyi said the report lacked credibility.

An online news media reported that the Customs boss faked his age and had served for 43 years.

The statement read: “Common sense dictates that an accurate depiction of the scandal being reported should be appropriate; instead, what appears to be plain paper with blurry, invisible writing is used to convince the reader.

“The first two paragraphs of the story state that official documents appear to prove Adeniyi’s guilt.”

Adeniyi emphasized that the platform did not provide screenshots of the official documents it claimed to have obtained.

He added that the media contradicted two paragraphs of his exclusive story.

“The report stated in one paragraph that age falsification had allowed him to remain on duty beyond the age of 60.

“In another report, the document also claims that Adeniyi changed his term of service to remain in the customs service.

“There is no concrete evidence presented in the report to support these claims,” the statement added.
