This was on the 8track tape when I was dating my husband in 1971. The name of the tape was COUNTRY FAIR. Does anyone remember having that light green 8track tape? Loved that song still do.
Early in my working (late teen) years, I was tutored by a master craftsman who could have been the subject of this song. He was a 'tough nut to crack' on the exterior, but deep down, after I got to know him (and earned his respect as he taught me his trade) I learned he was a softhearted man, and deeply wounded by his mother leaving him on the doorstep as an infant. Very few people knew the scar tissue he had on his heart. God Bless FJW.
