Chelle Final Name 23-Man Squad for World Cup qualifiers

Super Eagles chief coach. Eric Chelle has appointed his final team of 23 men for the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers of Nigeria against Rwanda and South Africa next month.

Despite the worries of injuries for his excursion in the club earlier this week, Stanley Nwabali has made the cut and is expected to keep his number 1 place among the sticks. It will be supported by AmaS Obasogie and Adebayo Adelev.

Captain William Ekong leads a defensive unit that also includes Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel and
Bruno Onyemaechi, while Chidozie Awaziem, Felix Agu and Benjamin Fredericks ascent talent provide depth.

In the midfield, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyak
Bashiru, and the young Christantus Uche based in Spain.

In front, Chelle has appointed a strong attack led by Victor Osimhen, along with Adela Lookman (Atalanta BC), Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Cyriel Dessers and Toluwalase Arokodare as Nigeria look for vital points on the road until 2026.

The Super Eagles, who have achieved only one victory in their last six outputs, will seek to recover with style against their rivals in Group C.

Nigeria will receive Amavubi in Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo on Saturday, September 6, before going to Bloemfontein for a high -risk clash with Bafana Bafana on Tuesday, September 9.
