Chelsea has announced the signature of the young Portuguese midfielder Dario EsSUGO of Sporting Lisboa.
The blues confirmed the firm in a statement on Monday.
“Chelsea is pleased to confirm the firm of Dario EsSUGO of Sporting CP,” says the European Conference League champion.
βThe midfielder, who spent last season in the league with Las Palmas and is a sub-21 International Portugal, has signed a contract until 2033.
βEsSUGO began his career at Sporting’s Academy and became the youngest player to present for the club when he made his debut senior at the age of 16 and six days against Vitoria de Guimaraes in March 2021.
βLater that year, he broke Luis Figo’s record as the youngest headline for sports, 16 years, 11 months and 17 days.
βHaving earned more experience with Sporting B and presenting on 23 occasions for the first team of the club, EsSugo spent the second half of the 2023/24 campaign on loan in lateral chaves of Primaira Liga, for whom he made 14 appearances.
βThe two additional departures for Sporting followed at the beginning of the 2024/25 season before EsSugo completed a loan movement to Las Palmas.
βThe 20 -year -old was established as usual for the Spanish team, making 27 appearances and scoring a goal for the yellow in all competitions.
“On the international stage, EsSUGO has appeared for Portugal in several age groups. Its most recent limits have arrived with those under 21, with their last appearance during the international holidays of March.
