The Easter celebrations of Monday in Mbaise have today taken on an academic and cultural tone, such as Capo Louis M. Alozie, Senior supporter of Nigeria (San), chairs the official launch of the revolutionary literary work of Igbo entitled “Ilolu na akpaalaokw igbo”.
This 32 -page book, written and completed by the great Mbaise Development Forum, represents a great educational initiative aimed at preserving and promoting the language and culture and culture all over the world.
Published under the guidance of Prof. Polycarp Umunnakwe Nwaoha, the book faces a longtime gap in Ilulu’s documentation, a form full of oral and linguistic expression deeply rooted in the Igbo tradition. The idea for the project was unleashed by the head of Remi Onuoha, a cultural enthusiast based in the diaspora who, two years ago, established a trophy for Igbo competitions. His vision inspired the forum to create a documented reference for future generations.
The book was officially presented to the forum in December 2024 by the head of the project and president of the cultural committee, Sir Desmond Obani. Since then, he has obtained the recognition and circulation between the PGI communities both locally and internationally.
To integrate the launch, the Greater Mbaise Development Forum has also organized a competition for the secondary school in Ilulu Igbo in the three areas of the local government of Mbaise. This move aims to promote cultural pride and linguistic excellence among young people.
The high profile event today presents the presence of distinct personalities. His real height, Eze Leo Nwokocha, president of the Council of traditional sovereigns of Mbaise, acts as a royal father of the day, adding traditional gravitas to the cultural celebration.
His Majesty, Queen Dr. Shirley Ngozi Okwudimma, honors the opportunity as a mother of the day.
The launch planning committee is chaired by the lawyer Sir Ra Onyeulur (PHD), while the role of Capo Launcher is played by Chief Barr. Success Obioma Akagburuonye, popularly known as Akaraugo Mbaise.
The remarkable co-lanciators include High Chief Emeka Njoku, Barr. Emma Njoku, Capo Peter Chika Dede, Capo Ethel Ufomba (Agujiegbe), Hon. The architect Chuks Ikwu, among others.
Today’s launch marks a significant milestone in the cultural and educational defense of the people of Mbaise while they continue to take bold steps to preserve and promote the rich legacy of the Igbo nation.
