President Tinubu’s President has expressed sadness over the death of the former national soccer team captain, Christian Chukwu.
Chukwu, who led the Super Eagles, who came to be known as the first Green Eagles, towards the first African nation (AFCON) victory in 1980, died on Saturday at the age of 74 years.
He then trained Super Eagles to win a bronze medal in AFCON 2004 held in Tunisia.
In a statement issued by special advisors about information and strategies, Bayo Onanuga, President of Eulogization Chukwu for a career determined by the desires, discipline, and commitment to national pride.
The statement reads: “The president joined the soccer community in mourning the legend whose contribution to a beautiful game improved Nigeria’s global status.

“Christian Chukwu is more than just a soccer player and coach. He is a symbol of excellence and patriotism.
“He brought joy to millions of people, guiding the generation of soccer players, and stood as the pillars of the Nigerian brand and sportsmanship on and off the field.
“His inheritance will continue to live in the trophy he won, the life he touched, and the time -attempt that he gave to football fans and spectators on the field and in the technical area.
“We are forever grateful for their contribution to sports that we all love, and we will always remember it very respectfully and admiration.”
Tinubu prayed for a dead sports and comfort for his family.
