Coas inaugurates multiple infrastructure projects in the Army Makurdi Cantonment

Makurdi (Reporter Core) Chief of Army Staff (Coas), Lieutenant Olufemi Oluyede, has inaugurated several recently complete projects at the Brigade of Special Forces 401, Joe Akaahan Cantonment, Makurdi, Benue State, aimed at updating military infrastructures.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Wednesday 10 September 2025, the Coas reiterated its commitment without fluctuation to improve the well -being and living conditions of the staff and their families. He underlined that the projects just completed would significantly improve operational efficiency, would increase morale and would improve the general quality of life within the canton.

Lieutenant General Oluyede has commissioned the rejuvenated officials, the officers of the mandate “and the Sergenti Club and the Salvators Club. Other structures include the residence and transit arrangement of the newly built sergeant for the staff. These projects have been designed to meet the social and operational needs of the troops, thus strengthening the overall effectiveness of the Nigerian army.

The declaration of Coas Na of the director of acting, the public relations of the army, the lieutenant Colonel Apolonia Alele, urged the beneficiaries to put the structures for good use and guarantee their correct maintenance.

The executive governor of Benue State, his reverend father (Dr.) Hyacinth alia, was represented on the occasion of the deputy governor, his excellence Dr. Sam Ode. High military officers, members of the executive council of the State of Benue and heads of security agencies in the State was also attended in the event.

The basic journalists report that the ceremony has further characterized the symbolic plantation of commemorative trees by the COA and the representative of the governor of the State of Benue.
