Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has granted the police’s application to remand 124 #EndBadGovernance protesters for 60 days.
The judge made the order based on an ex-parte motion filed by counsel for the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Mohammed.
He issued a temporary order to detain the suspects until the investigation is complete.
Judge Nwite also ordered that the juvenile suspects be detained at the Borstal Home at the correctional centre pending the completion of investigations.
In the first ex-parte motion marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1154/2024 filed by Mohammed on August 14, the judge ordered that the suspects be detained for 60 days pending the conclusion of investigations and legal advice from the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF).

A certified copy (CTC) of the order was obtained by reporters on Saturday.
The IGP in a motion dated August 8 sued 75 protesters ranging in age between 14 and 34 years.
They include Abubakar Ibrahim (18), Abubakar Adam (19), Suleiman Ali (16), Mubarak Mas’ud (23), Umar Musa (19), Aminu Hussaini (20), Umar Kabir (23), Ibrahim Musa ( 24 ), Abba Usman (30), Umar Inusa (18), Tasi’u Lawan (17), Ibrahim Rabi’u (16) and Jamilu Haruna (16).
Also listed is β Muktar Yahaya (17). Abdulbasit Abdulsalam (34), Salisu Adamu (16), Bilal Auwalu (15), Abdul’aziz Adam (15), Sadiq Sunusi (15), Muhd ββMusa (14), Usman Amiru (14), Abdulganiyu Musa (15 ), Muhd ββYahaya (19), and Sunusi Nura (14), among others.
They are suspected of terrorism, treason, treason crimes, arson, and terrorism.
