Court Penalty 2 Until Death Because of Armed Robbery in Ogun

Judge Olugboyega Ogunfowora from the Ogun State High Court, Abeokuta, on Thursday sentenced two people, Wale Adedeji and Akeem Sulaimon, to death by hanging due to armed robbery and attempted murder.

The third inmate, Wahab Idowu, was sentenced to 21 years in prison for the same violation.

The three were sentenced to accusations of four conspiracy counts, armed robbery and attempted murder.

In its decision, the judge said the court was confident without doubt that the people accused of committing violations as charged.

He punished the three men each 14 years based on a count of one and two for conspiracy and armed robbery.

Previously, legal counsel, Ny. Bolariwa Adebowale, told the court that the convicts committed violations on October 29, 2018, in No. 40 Merroy Road in the onikolobo area in Abeokuta.

He said the convicts, armed with a knife and mattress, entered the house of a Mr. Rasheed Fajinmi, trying to kill him and rob him from his Ford Jeep with the registration number of Mus 769 etc.

The prosecutor added that inmates also brought complaints, shoes, four cellphones, two ATM cards, jewelry, 32 -inch plasma television and the amount of N64,000 cash.

The convicts also robbed a Miss Boluwatife Fajinmi from their iPhone, Nokia 5x and Watches.

According to him, the violation is contrary to section 21 (B) and 1 (1) (a) (5) From the prohibition of forced entry, the property occupation landed, armed robbery, kidnapping, cult and other anti-violations and violations related to 2016 law.
