Court to hear accusations of Akpabio’s insult against Natasha on Tuesday

Judge Binta Nyako from the Federal High Court, Abuja, has decided to hear accusations of insult submitted by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, against the Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, for alleged social media posts.

The judge, who postponed this issue until Tuesday, also said he would hear the accusation of previous insults submitted by Akpoti-Uuduaghan against Akpabio, Senate and others for the alleged disobedience of the previous court orders.

“I also want a copy of the Senate rules. I will take you tomorrow. I will delete the diary,” said Nyako.

The judge on April 4 arrested all parties in the lawsuit filed by Akpoti-Uudughan from giving media interviews or involved in social media posts about the problem before the court.

This follows complaints by Akpabio’s lawyer, Kaninde Ogunwumiju (SAN), that Akpoti-Uuduaghan was suspected of going to a media station to provide interviews on problems related to the lawsuit.

Akpabio has submitted a motion that accused MPs of violating court orders by posting “satirical letters” on his Facebook page.

Akpoti-Uduaghan had previously submitted an accusation of insult to the senate for suspending despite the detention order by Judge Obiora Egwuatu from the same court.

The judge in March arrested the leadership of the senate from taking action on alleged cases of sexual harassment while waiting for the trial and determining the problem.

The senator that was fought had registered the Registrar of the National Assembly, AKPabio, Senate and Senator Neda Imasuem, Chair, Senate Committee on Ethics, Specialty Rights and Code of Ethics as Respondents in the lawsuit.
