Cultural Exchange: CGC hosts the Chinese art performance in Abuja

On Monday CGC Nigeria Limited hosted a Chinese art performance Pingan in Abuja as part of the efforts to improve cultural exchange and encourage popular friendship between people between China and Nigeria.

Speaking on behalf of the company, Jiang Wei, deputy director of the CGC, said that the performance of the WUXI Pingan crew of the province of Jiangsu acts as a cultural exchange and a affirmation of the lasting friendship between the Chinese and Nigerian populations.

“Through this event, we aim to deepen cultural cooperation, promote mutual understanding and strengthen trust between our two nations,” he said.

Even speaking, Yang Jianxing, cultural consultant and director of the Chinese cultural center, described Pingan as a “shining pearl” among the over 400 forms of traditional popular art of China.

“Originning Jiangnan’s water cities during the Ming and Qing dynasties, Pingan perfectly blends the narrative depth of the narrative, the opera elegance of the work and the rhythmic charm of music,” said Yang.

He observed that Pingan’s performance by WUXI Musical Troupe aims to use culture as a bridge, allowing the Nigerians to experience the rich diversity of Chinese culture and the search for harmony by the Chinese people.

Previously in his observations, Shen Jie, deputy director of the WUXI Pingan Troupe, observed that the melodies, made in the delicate dialect Suzhou and accompanied by the elegant tones of the traditional rope tools, create a profound emotional connection.

“Every lyric paints vivid images of life, love and history, resonating as delicate cracks in a flow,” said Shen.

The event was attended in music lovers, employees of Chinese companies, members of the diplomatic community and Nigerian media.

The highlights of the performances of the Wuxi Pingan crew included WUXI landscapes, Dangkou’s family letters, a delicious jasmine and the moon on the river in a spring evening, among others.
